Job Purpose
To direct and co-ordinate the design and creation of IRIS products ranges.
Results Fields
- Play a role in the definition and the development of a R&D strategy with the General Management.
- Appling the development strategy defined by the General Manager and/or his manager and explain the development priorities to the team.
- Planning and piloting the delivery activities in collaboration with other managers, in order to achieve both qualitative objectives (meeting deadlines, quality and customer satisfaction) and quantitative objectives (financial profitability).
- Spontaneously proposing innovations for the products and/or character recognition engines and playing an active role in that innovation in order to optimise the products and keep them up-to-date in relation to market trends and competitive product positioning.
- Analysing competitive and comparable products on the market, from the technical point of view, in order to come up with innovative proposals.
- Remaining constantly informed of the trends and developments in the field concerned, and keeping his or her knowledge up-to-date in the light of new developments in order to reinforce his or her credibility by means of a service that is permanently based on updated knowledge.
- Developing particular functionalities and taking part in the writing of the relevant codes.
- Checking and ensuring the quality of the deliverables by designing test and validation procedures.
- Motivating his or her employees in order to optimize and develop their skills, aptitudes and know-how and guaranteeing the proper workings of the product management.
- Coaching and guiding less experienced staff.
- Spontaneously proposing to the General Manager the necessary job openings as well as the departures that need to be planned.
Scope
This job manages between one and five colleagues with a staff responsibility for the project team.
Expertise
Master’s degree in computing or industrial or civil engineering +15 years of experience required.
Technical Knowledge
- Algorithms
- Good knowledge of programming languages: C++, .NET, C#, etc.
- Development knowledge of specific products: IRISNext.
- Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of one of the national languages is a plus.
